MEMBER ROLE: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (OT) REPRESENTATIVE

DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the Board is to assure the availability of high-quality occupational therapy services to persons in need through the regulation of those offering themselves as occupational therapists or occupational therapy assistants.

 

SEAT RESTRICTIONS: Each member of the board shall be a citizen of this state.

Four members shall be involved in the practice of occupational therapy, of which one shall be an occupational therapy assistant. These members shall have been engaged in rendering services to the public, teaching, or research in occupational therapy for at least three years, and shall at all times be holders of valid licenses for the practice of occupational therapy in Alabama.

The occupational therapy board members shall be appointed by the Governor from a list submitted by the Alabama Occupational Therapy Association.

Role: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (OT) REPRESENTATIVE

Effective Appointment Date: JANUARY 1, 2026 (TERM BEGINS)

Term End Date: JANUARY 1, 2029

Incumbent Member*: Mr. Antonius Dewayne Hamilton, OTR/L

*Incumbent OT member has served one (1) term and is eligible for reappointment; member is seeking reappointment as authorized by the Governor and pursuant to ยง34-39-6 of the Alabama State Occupational Therapy Practice Act)
